Clearing and maintenance in the George Brown Botanic Gardens is reducing mosquito numbers providing greater comfort for visitors.
The Work for the Dole (WFD) activity at the George Brown Botanic Gardens continues to attract new participants, with attendance remaining good, especially given wet season conditions.
Both the Operations Manager and Director have been impressed with the effort demonstrated by participants and the progress they have been able to make.
During the activity, boardwalks have been established for visitors to enjoy the surrounding creeks. As a result, mosquito numbers have been noticeably lower; this is expected to improve further during the dry season.
